I do love how the internet can link you up with new craft projects that you might miss otherwise. Mid February, Emma from Yarn and Craft Shop tweeted a picture of a blanket featured in Issue 24 of Mollie Makes. I hadn't seen a copy of that issue yet (alas my subscription has lapsed and I am waiting to move house before reinstating it) but when I picked up a copy a couple of days later I had to get some supplies. I felt I deserved it because I was so close to finishing the jumper. So the ban on extra supplies before my hit list was complete was lifted. More on the hit list later in the week.
I absolutely love the mix of colours in the squares of the blanket and started making some up straight away. They are the perfect 'watching TV' crochet and I am ploughing through House of Cards on Netflix working them up. How gorgeous are they?
It is so good to have a simple crochet project on in the background, one you can pick up and not think about. This one I find really satisfying to work up as it's four rounds of the same yarn before you border. Much easier than my granny a day squares. Changing up the yarn on each round really does take alot of time. My only concern about this blanket is that there is not going to be enough yarn to make the kind of size I want, I may have to buy in more supplies.
What 'go to' project have you got on at the moment?
