This summer is zipping past all too quickly.
Every time I get an email I look at my phone and more often than not as I am informed of ANOTHER spam comment on this site and I think, 'You should post more often.'
It's not that I haven't been doing or making, it's either that I am so bushed by the end of another day of the summer holidays or there is only an hour or so between the kids going to bed and me hitting the hay! I simply cannot find it in me to write anything! Sound familiar?
One thing that I have managed in amongst all the chaos of a multitude of camping trips (three so far and counting!) is trying out the larksfoot stitch. You can read a very good tutorial of it here at Meet me at Mikes. I'm hoping to make another baby blanket using it and I've almost completed a doll's blanket for Ruby.
Yet another crochet project on the hook is the blanket above which I am sewing up from squares I made an age ago. Always useful to have some squares ready eh? Leaving them lying around for two years is ridiculous!
That is another thing on the cards - sorting out the workspace. It's looking much clearer but it's definitely not inspiring me at all. I will take a picture tomorrow but I am in desperate need of more shelving and storage (or perhaps I need a huge edit!) It's almost certainly stunting me creatively, walking into this cluttered, disorganised space, it all seems too overwhelming a task, I certainly don't spend that much time in there at the moment. I've talked about clutter before I swear I can feel it's stuck, lethargic energy...
I've also made the decision this week to fold the childminding I've been working on part time, all this camping, being outdoors, looking up at shooting stars hasn't half given me some perspective and I'm making changes now to fit more in of what lights me up. George will be going to preschool for an extra session as of September leaving me time once a week from 9.40-3.00 plus one morning, to do something in the day, uninterrupted by children on a regular basis. This hasn't happened for this length of time since I had Ruby who is 5 and a half. I can barely contain my excitement!
