The bearded one (Gwyn) FINALLY has a new jumper. Some of you will remember way back when, (2011 to be exact) when I blogged here about making a new jumper for Gwyn. Can you believe it has taken this long to finish? I can. It was the most miserably slow and frustrating crafting experience so far in my crafting life.
I KNOW that he really does look like he is posing in the opening photo but he truly was hands in pockets looking at the sky at this exact moment, and I caught it! When I asked him to actually pose, he did this:
And before he gets ripped in the pub for that picture let me explain he could barely stop laughing and I barely got a photo because the camera was shaking so much. There is something ridiculously funny about having to pose in either something you have made or something someone has made for you. You just feel pretty silly. We have, of course seen Gwyn's modelling prowess in action already. See here.
The tweed cable sweater by Erika Knight in 'Men's Knits' was my knitting nemesis.
I am beyond thrilled that this UFO (Unfinished Object) is finished. It has plagued me and hung over my head as something to finish for TOO long. At the start of the year I vowed to pick it up again and conquer it, I was just so fed up with seeing the bag of wool move around the house, totally rejected. The satisfaction from doing so is brilliant. I really do think it has turned out well, better than I hoped and I love the look of the cabling. I had made a little promise to myself that I wasn't allowed to buy any other crafting supplies until I finished a list of stuff that was almost done. Rather amazingly I have been very good and just focused on one thing at a time, although there has been one exciting purchase for 2013 which I will blog on next week.
I'll not be in a hurry to start a huge complicated crafting endeavour like this again anytime soon, it was too time consuming and very hard to put down and then pick up again in the right place. At least Gwyn has genuinely appreciated the amount of time that went into this and is grateful I actually made the effort to complete it. He even wears it!
I also like to finish things! It gives me a real kick, but taking on big projects seem to mean less posts on actual finished pieces which I feel makes my blog seize up a bit. Does anyone else have that?
In any case, I'm linking up this week for Tami's Ami's Finished Friday.
