You're so right. We spent much of last summer at a hospice saying goodbye to my husband's father. The gardens were an amazing comfort. In the midst of such pain and sadness, to be able to still see lovely things around you everywhere you looked, somehow helped. Volunteers would also come round and serve tea and cake in the gardens in the afternoon, and to be so well cared for at a time when such kindness really matters, took my breath away - it pains me to think what our experience and memories of this time would have been had they taken place in a hospital rather than a hospice.

I'm so sorry this summer is a hard one for you, Amy. x
